Finding a hairdresser that understands you (and your hair)

Updated: Sep 6, 2021

Excited is an understatement! This is my first blog on my K. Danae Hair Care Plus website! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my blog. I have stepped out of my comfort zone for sure with this one. I have been a professional Hairstylist for 12 years, specializing in natural hair, mainly Locs and Braids. Years ago when I was still trying to figure out what "type" of stylist I wanted to me, I knew that Natural Hair was what I was called to. The hair industry was going in a new direction and I was willing to accept the challenge. Natural hair is beautiful! Helping anyone that wants to embrace and understand their natural hair is a rewarding experience.

Locs!!!! Now THIS is My Thing!!!! I have mastered locs. Not only have I had them for over 14 years, I have also helped hundreds of people start their loc journey.

It is extremely important to find to find a hairdresser and loctician that understands your hair.

Having a consultation before selecting a stylist is beneficial. During that time you will be able to get all of your general questions answered as well as get a feel for how you and that stylist connect. The term that is most commonly used now is 'vibe or energy'. If the stylist does not have good energy you may want to consider another stylist. " You cant let everyone in your hair" You may have heard that a time or 2 lol. It is very true. Having a consistent schedule with The right Hairstylist will help your hair grow. Consistency is key.

I encourage you to do your research. Check out reviews, and consider setting up a consultation before you choose your stylist. Keep in mind, if the stylist comes highly recommended you may have to wait a while before you can be seen by them. But be patient. It will be worth it.
